One of the perks of being in my orchestra came this week. One of our sponsors owns a little business called "Just Add Chocolate". It's a chocolate novelty store which hosts "parties" where you create whatever kind of chocolates you can think of. At our May concert, the owner of the business announced that he was going to give all the members of the orchestra a "golden" ticket that entitled each member to take their date on a Friday or Saturday or their family on Monday night to the store and participate in the party.
Camille was EXTREMELY excited about this because she loves all things chocolate. So when we finally got the "golden" ticket, she really wanted to go. We ended up going this last Monday night and it was really fun.
There were three families there that night and we each got a table to work at. After waiting about 10 minutes for the last family to show up, the two staff spent about 5-10 minutes giving us the instructions and then we spent the rest of the time creating our chocolates. They have dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. They have every filling, mold, topping, etc. imaginable. You can coat strawberries, pretzels, brownies, Twinkies, etc. with chocolate. You can fill little chocolate square boxes with whatever filling you want. Whatever you want, they probably have it. My kids really enjoyed it.
With each golden ticket, you get one pound of chocolates included with the party (a $34 value) but when you're talking about 6 people, of course, you're going to walk away with more than one pound. So my husband and I just did a few chocolates each and let the kids do more. We still ended up with about 2 pounds of chocolate and paid an additional $20 for the extra pound.
It was a great activity for our family. I probably wouldn't recommend taking small children but it was great for us with our crew of older children. Thanks to Foster, the owner, for the free golden ticket!

Just a few of the many options available to put in or on your chocolate |

Talmage was especially good at expertly drizzling white chocolate and caramel on his chocolates. |
