Back in 2017, we drove up to Rexburg to stay with my sister and see The Great American Eclipse which did not disappoint. It was quite impressive. And then there was Carmaggedon--not so fun.
This year we got the annular eclipse which means the moon is closer to the earth (or farther? one of those two) and didn't completely block it out. We were not quite in the path so we didn't see the ring of fire that people down in Richfield did. However, we had a pretty good view and we didn't have to drive at all. It was not nearly as impressive (or as fun) as the total eclipse but still kind of cool. Bruce and Michelle came over for old time's sake since we were together at the 2017 eclipse.
Here are some pictures Scott took with our good camera. They're all pretty much the same view but taken over a period of time with the camera staying stationery. We noticed that everything got darker and it was pretty chilly with the sun blocked. We appreciate the warmth and light the sun gives us.
