Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! Being a mother is becoming less popular if you look at the falling birthrates all over the world. I'm thankful to belong to a faith that teaches about the importance of families, having children, and giving your very best efforts in parenting.
Motherhood is a challenging job--the hardest job most women will ever do. But I believe that it brings a great deal of meaning to life. You have to put aside much more self-centered activities to focus on raising children and trying to help them become their best selves. I was very fortunate to be able to stay home with my children and give them more time than I could have otherwise. It hasn't been all self-sacrifice--I have also been greatly blessed to have time to pursue other interests as well--gardening, family history, music, etc. But being a mother is by far my greatest and long-lasting accomplishment.
I always wanted to have a large family and I was greatly blessed to have one. I'm still working on my Ph.D. in parenting. Here are some pictures of my dissertation!
