About 2 months ago, I decided that our Hansen family reunion needed more activities. I wanted more structured opportunities for people to interact and get to know each other better. No excuses for sitting around feeling bored. So I set out to create a schedule with as many ideas as people suggested.
We started out Thursday with a scripture study with Dad and a yoga class at the same time (different room) with Heidi.
Our next activity was Ted talks, an idea I got from the Richard and Linda Eyre.We took video of each Ted talk for those who wanted to watch later. There were about 7 total and it took about 90 minutes.
While the adults were listening to the Ted talks, the kids were making movies. It ended up being a popular activity, especially watching the finished products. We divided up the kids into 4 groups and put a young adult or teenager in charge:
After the Ted talks and movies, while we were waiting for lunch, Michelle did a folk-dancing class:
In the afternoon, people did a hike near Park City:
We also made shields for the Nerf Gun war which we didn't have quite enough time for but the shield-making seemed to be a fun activity:
That night we had our usual family talent show which is always a lot of fun to watch. I'm still waiting for the video footage for our family from my brother who is on a really long car trip back home. But here's footage for the other families:
