Happy birthday to David! I had a hard time finding good pictures of David from this time period of 12-14 years old. We got a digital camera not long before he turned 15 so pictures weren't as plentiful. The other challenge was we had 7 children and we tended to take a lot more pictures of the little kids, not so many of the older ones. Sorry, David! Here he is when he was ordained to office of deacon:
This was David's Primary class when he was 12, which I taught. He was the only boy in the class but he was a good sport.David was an enthusiastic pumpkin carver--maybe he still is:

David was a good sport about all the metal he had to wear in his mouth to correct his teeth which started around age 8 and didn't end until some years later.
One of David's favorite activities in winter was making snowmen and caves.
Turning 12, he got lots of camping stuff for his Scouting adventures:
Turning 13:
An aspiring tennis star, still had braces and still loved Bionicles:

David enjoyed the band program at CVJH and got to play in jazz band. He actually started out learning the trumpet but the band class didn't have room for another trumpet player so he had to be in choir for the first semester of 7th grade and took trumpet lessons from Scott. Then the band teacher said he could join the band if he changed to the trombone so he switched and joined for second semester. He ended up playing the trombone in the school band for the rest of his public school career and played a little at BYU too.Visiting Mindy in the NICU:
David is a great addition to our family! We're sure glad you're in it, David!
