When It's Reunion TIme... Part 2

Friday morning of our reunion featured breakfast by Lincoln and MiCayla with yogurt parfaits and muffins.  After breakfast we did skits--fairy tales that should have ended differently: That was followed by a hike a few miles up Logan Canyon with most of our group. The weather was cooler that day and it was great for our hike. Lunch was sandwiches, watermelon, chips, etc. put on by Susanna and Talmage. That was followed by Ted Talks for those who weren't napping. After the Ted talks, the air was too smoky from the fires in Oregon and California to go outside so the rock climbing didn't happen. Instead we hung out at the house and played games. We had a treasure hunt for the grandkids: We had a dinner of lasagna and French bread and salad by Scott and Paula. Then after dinner we did Bergeson Family Jeopardy with questions created by David and Jan. Saturday we had breakfast of spinach blueberry pancakes courtesy of Scott, Mindy and Camille. Then we cleaned up and drove home: It w

To Whom Shall We Go Podcast

Recently I discovered this new podcast that I am really enjoying. It's called To Whom Shall We Go Podcast.   It's not a really professional polished podcast but the host gets some amazing guests to come on the podcast. Each episode is mostly the guests talking about their area of expertise. However, Ryan is very thorough in his questions and doesn't shy away from issues that can be hard for members of the church to reconcile with their faith.  Here are some episodes I've listened to: The Issues Class :  The guest is an institute teacher at Utah State with a strong British accent. He teaches an issues class where they discuss challenging issues for young adult Latter-day Saints. He spends quite a bit of time telling his own story which is quite interesting. Given his background, it's pretty incredible that he ended up in Logan teaching institute. Temple Light : The guest is a woman who has started a Youtube channel for missionary preparation. This episode focuses on

When It's Reunion Time... Part 1

We had a Bergeson family reunion last month! About 10 months ago, we reserved a house up at Bear Lake with quite a few bedrooms and bathrooms. I was nervous that we would have enough room but it worked out. On a Wednesday afternoon we headed up to Garden City, Utah, which is right next to Bear Lake. We had dinner--taco soup courtesy of Garrett. Then we handed out our Bergeson Reunion t-shirts and took a group picture before any got dirty. We didn't have anyone to take the picture or a tripod so this is what we got: Then we had FHE with songs, lesson, games and treats. I told some stories about Grandma Emma who was my grandpa's grandma. She was the 5th wife of Jesse N. Smith and a very admirable person. The next morning after breakfast burritos cooked by Everett and Caroline some of us participated in a yoga class, led by Susanna: That was followed by an Undokai with the theme of candy, led by MiCayla and Lincoln: Probably the winning team could tell you who won but I have forgo
